in the Advanced settings window, check the last tick (Replace all child object.) and press Ok activate every check box you can tick in the Auditing Entry window, then press Ok click on Select a principal and type in the white text box 'Everyone' (no quotes), then press Ok still in the Advanced settings window, click on the tab Auditing, click add in the big white text box write your username, then press Ok click Change on the right of 'Owner: XYZ' I've tried on multiple computers but I still get the same message.

I don't get this message on all of the files but on most of them. So recently I needed some files which are stored on it but then I got this message saying that I don't have any permission to open the files. Hi, I need som help with my external drive.
